A crowd favourite. Healthy, indulgent and it tastes so much better than it would seem. These are great as snacks and to bring as your plate. Minimal effort required but with maximum flavour and health benefits.

What you’ll need for 8-10 blissballs:
Ingredients
-
¼ c raw brazil nuts
-
¼ c raw almonds
-
¼ cup raw pistachios, shelled
-
15 Medjool dates, pitted
-
1Tbsp desiccated coconut
-
2 tsp Thea Matcha
-
1 tsp coconut oil
-
¼ - ½ c of varying chopped nuts for coating
-
Optional - Melted chocolate of choice for coating – dark chocolate is our recommendation
Gadgets
-
Food Processor
-
Two bowls
-
Silicone mat or baking paper
Step 1: Soak the Medjool dates in a bowl of warm water for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Roughly chop all the nuts then blitz in the food processer for around a minute or two or until a smooth consistency (the nuts will probably still be a bit chunky but that’s still good to bite into) – take out the ¼- ½ c for coating then add in the now soaked Medjool dates and blitz for another minute or until combined.
Step 3: Transfer to a bowl and leave to chill in the fridge for 15 minutes
Step 4: Roll these out onto a silicone mat or baking paper, creating balls around 5cm in diameter.
Step 5: Decorate the bliss balls by rolling them into the crushed nut mixture and if you want to - dipping it into warm melted chocolate. Sprinkle some coconut and crushed nuts from a height for a fancy look.
Step 6: Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes and dig in!
Thea Tips:
-
Reduce the date soaked water and a bit of white sugar over a medium heat for a delicious syrup.
-
Sprinkling Matcha over the bliss balls lifts the sweetness from the bliss balls giving you a more balanced flavour.
-
Brazil nuts and almonds really complement Matcha, so don’t worry about putting a lot in as this combo really works with the dates. I’m not a date person at all (huehue) but I loved this combo, I really think it’s the brazil nuts that make it work!

Feel free to switch up the nuts for whatever suits you, to make all different types of balls.
