FAQ

How do I place an order for a subscription?

On each product page you have the option to select "Subscribe & save" or a "one time purchase". Select the subscription and choose your frequency.

Can I just order the refill pouch as one off?

Yes we can accomodate this! Just write us a note in the order and we will remove the outer packaging for you.

I need a new tin, how do I order one?

You can cancel your subscription and start again. We send out the full packaging as it is treated as a "new order". Or you can email us at hello@thea.co.nz.

What is your refill bag made from?

It's a high barrier home compostable bag that can be popped in your home compost bin and designed to break down over time in lower temperatures. We source from Econic:

The majority of every Econic bag or wrapper is made from a combination of compostable films derived from sustainably-managed renewable resources. With the exception of the paper-outer on the EconicKraft and EconicSnow bags, the films used to make Econic packaging have been individually certified to the European and American commercial compostability standards (EN 13432 and ASTM6400) and either the European or Australian home compostable standards: OK Compost Home or AS5810.  Each completed Econic bag or wrapper also includes a percentage of compostable non-renewable components derived from unrefined fossil fuels, which can vary due to factors such as ink coverage, film thickness and customised performance adaptions.

How long does it take for your bag to break down?

If it is cut into smaller pieces, you can see the breakdown start from as little as 16 weeks. However, it all depends on your compost environment, temperature and humidity.
